Week 4: Stress Less, Sleep Best

Week 4 of the Lift Yourself campaign focuses on how stress and sleep can impact weight loss. Many people do not realise how these interact with an individual’s weight loss progress.

Stress makes it far more difficult to lose weight as it can slow metabolism and tempt self-regulation. Furthermore, stress impacts many different areas of an individual’s life negatively. Activities such as meditation can increase mindfulness and lower stress.

It is important to create an effective night-time routine that primes the body for sleep and recovery. This could include having a cold shower before bed, limited device use before bed, and playing relaxing sounds.
